Portugese prodigy Armando Silveira has just been bought from Skeel for the record signing fee of 905k.
Silveira is amongst the most promising young hillsprinter out there right now. With his abilities as a bunchsprinter as well as his timetrial skills, he really has the full package. In addition, despite his young age, Silveira has a good level of experience. Alltogether we think that he has what it takes, to win the riderranking at some point.
With Silveiras arrival, our corefocus changes from topspot in ranking to winning jerseys. The sprintjerseys in Germany Tour as well as Vuelta Los Castillos are now the big seasongoals. Silveira is a dark horse for General Classification in Essex Tour with his timetrial skills, but a podium will take a great deal of luck. The hillclassic Bergen Rundtur is the trophy Silveira is most likely to win. But as the race favours teammates over leadouts he is not topfavourite. With Ingar Vatnes two podiums in the last five editions, we still have high hopes though.
We are very happy to have such an amazing talented athlete riding in our colours. We strongly believe in his abilities to lift the team as a whole and add to our palamares.
Quick facts:
-His transfer of 905k is the 4th highest amount paid for a rider in OCM history.
-With 238 points he is the 3rd best hillsprinter and the best active in the game.
-As a super allround sprinter he is the 3rd best rider with 305 points.
